I have visited all the top three museums 英國大英博物館 (twice), 法國羅浮宮, 俄羅斯冬宮博物館。
I have visited National Palace Museum many times.
I came to National Palace Museum again last weekend and delighted to see the jade cabbage 翠玉白菜 again. You probably do not know NPM is under reconstruction this year (95% completed now). The new decoration is quite different from the past, more modern design, more professional exhibition. But kind of pity because of space limitation, we are only able to see the "china & jade exhibition in the 2nd floor and "copper, bronze container exhibition" in the 3rd floor. Now I know why NPM have so many historical collections (650,000 pieces) and still can not be able to become the top 3 museums in the world.

NPM is reconstructed based on the original structure and still have 3 floors for exhibition. If NPM can build a new building say 6 floors for example, 1st floor specified for Taiwan's collections, 2nd floor for china & jade collections, 3rd floor for copper & bronze collections, 4th floor for Chinese painting & calligraphy, 5th floor for religion related collections and 6th floor for special exhibition as required, so all visitors can see more treasures in one time instead of only partial exhibitions, and take several times to have a more clear picture of NPM collections.

I tried to refresh when was my last visit to NPM. Wow, it was seven years ago. In fact, Taiwan has such precious treasures that others do not but we sometimes did not really cherish them with the excuses that we are too busy to go there. If you only spent short time to visit them, you will not be able to really see the antiques in-depth and you, therefore, will not be touchable by the wisdoms of our ancestors.
I visited your blog just now and saw the new decoration on NPM. It looks better with the modern feeling. Anyway, thanks for sharing and it seems the time we can plan to go there.

My last visit to NPM-Taipei in August, 2006 . There is very good of past chinese things to shares with everyone. I hope I have a chance to come again later.
